While studying animal science in college, I got my first Rottweiler. I struggled with him - not because he was a bad dog but because he was so smart, and loved new challenges! It was because of him that I am where I am.

While studying for and finishing my animal science degree, I worked at a large scale board and train facility. It was there that I saw an urgent need for in-home animal care and midday visits for dogs while their owners were away.  This led me to start Footed Pet Sitting, which to date has serviced well over 2,000 animals and their people within the last 18 years. This experience dealing with pets and their people has been invaluable allowing me to work with a variety of temperaments, breeds and ages in a multitude of settings. With the  expertise in handling and observation skills, I began offering private behavioral consults, and later began group classes ranging from reactive dog to competitive obedience.

When not working and training client dogs, I likely will be found training my own!! My own dogs have won multi High In Trial / High Combined awards at all-breed and specialty trials, have been nationally ranked in Novice, Open and Utility within the breed, and have achieved a variety of obedience, scentwork and rally titles.

My current dogs include Rottweilers:

Cici Rider Von der Aunkst UDX OM2 RE SIN

Ch Zirkcreek all that Flash CDX RE

Ch Eis Haus Quick off the Line BN RN SEN

I enjoy teaching and laying a strong foundation; if you don’t have a strong foundation, you have nothing to fall back upon. My methods are motivational and balanced, with a strong emphasis put upon the relationship - as it all starts there! I was blessed to train with Celeste Meade for 10 years, and have taken seminars from: Julie Hill, Betsy Scappichio and Linda Brennen, Temple Grandin, Pat Hastings, Denise Fenzi, Sylvia Bishop, Jean Donaldson, and Patricia McConnell amongst others in the field, studying topics ranging from aggression and body language to problem solving for the competitive obedience student. I believe that education is continuous, and am constantly studying, looking for better ways to teach and train. I look forward to working with you and your dog!
